Where to put baby gates?

Step 1: Baby Gate Banister Adaptor Selection

Install the Banister Adaptor first.

Step 2: Gate Placement

This is where you will hold your gate and decide where to install it on the walls. We started with our gate's wall mount height of 6 inches, which prevents your baby from crawling under it.

Installing the gate straight is ideal. Some gates require straight installation. We didn't worry about aligning the mounts perfectly because our gate allows for errors.

After deciding on a placement, we marked the top of the gate with a pencil on the wall and then on the banister adaptor so we could install the mounts later.

Step 3: Wall Mount Stationary

Start using power tools! It will be included with the package when you order a baby gate set.

Step 4: Attach the Gate to the Stationary Wall Mount

Step 5: Latch Mount to Banister Adapter

Install the banister adaptor's latch mount next. Hold the latch mount against the banister adaptor wood. Extend the gate until it fits the latch mount.

Unlatch the gate and mark the latch mount screw holes on the banister adaptor wood with a pencil.

Align the latch mount with the holes you marked. Screw the latch mount into the wood with the gate screws and impact driver.

Wait Before Finishing:

The optional one-way stop bracket must be screwed in while installing the latch mount if you want your gate to swing only one way, away from the stairs. Before screwing the latch mount into the wood, align that over the upper latch mount screw and face the bracket in the direction you don't want it to open.

Step 6: Adjust the Gate as Needed Set the baby gate screw.

Lock the gate. Using the Allen wrench, tighten the set screw that keeps the gate at the right width. Otherwise, your gate will change width every time you grab it.

And done! A more safe area has been created for your babies.

How long should you let the baby cry in the bassinet?

You start by letting your child cry for a few minutes before briefly checking on them. You gradually increase those reaction times throughout the night until your infant falls asleep on his or her own. Weeping intervals for your baby should be no more than 10 minutes.

Can I leave the newborn in the bassinet while I shower?

It's customary to leave a little child alone in her cot while you take a quick shower, but this does not apply to swings and bouncy seats, which are dangerous.

Where should a baby bassinet be placed in the bedroom?

In your bedroom, place your baby's crib, bassinet, portable crib, or play yard near your bed. Room sharing is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics because it can lower the incidence of SIDS by up to 50% and is far safer than bed sharing. Sharing a room will also make feeding, soothing, and monitoring your baby easier.
